Our Mission
At Prepared Family Press, we believe that every American family deserves access to practical, trustworthy information about preparedness, self-reliance, and protecting the people they love most.
We’re not doomsday theorists. We’re not conspiracy peddlers. We’re a small editorial team committed to one simple idea: readiness is an act of love. Preparing for the unexpected isn’t about fear. It’s about ensuring that the people in your care — your spouse, your kids, your aging parents, your neighbors — have what they need when they need it.
What We Cover
Prepared Family Press publishes in-depth articles, reviews, and guides across several areas that matter to American households:
- Home preparedness — emergency plans, communication strategies, and making your home more resilient
- Energy independence — backup power, solar basics, and reducing reliance on vulnerable systems
- Water and food security — storage, purification, and long-term planning
- Financial resilience — building reserves and protecting what you’ve earned
- Teaching the next generation — how to pass preparedness values to your children without scaring them
We focus on the practical: what to do, how to do it, and what it costs. We leave the hype to others.
Our Editorial Approach
Everything we publish goes through a simple editorial filter:
- Is it true? — We verify sources, check expert claims, and update content when new information emerges.
- Is it useful? — We skip the filler. If a tip doesn’t help a real family in a real situation, it doesn’t make the page.
- Is it honest? — When we recommend a product or resource, we say why. When we earn a commission from an affiliate link, we tell you. No hidden agendas.
We believe American readers deserve straight talk, not sales pitches disguised as journalism.
Who We Are
Prepared Family Press is an independent editorial project based in the United States. Our editorial team includes writers, researchers, and long-time practitioners of self-reliance — from suburban dads who started prepping after the 2020 supply chain shocks, to rural families who’ve lived off-grid for decades.
We operate without corporate sponsorship. We answer to our readers.
Why “Press”
We chose the name Press because we take editorial integrity seriously. A press — historically — is a trusted channel between information and citizens. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to.
How We Make Money
Prepared Family Press is funded through three streams:
- Affiliate partnerships — when readers purchase products we recommend through our links, we earn a small commission. This doesn’t change what we recommend; it only funds our ability to keep publishing.
- Reader support — occasionally, we may offer premium guides or resources for purchase directly.
- Editorial partnerships — when we partner with another publisher or expert, we always disclose the relationship.
We do not accept paid placements disguised as editorial content. Ever.
Our Values
- Family first. Every decision we make starts with: does this help a family?
- Truth over trend. We don’t chase clicks. We chase substance.
- Respect for our readers. We assume you’re intelligent, busy, and want to get to the point.
- Long-term thinking. We’re building a resource that will still be useful in ten years.
